Easter: Craft, Contrast and Commercial Opportunity

Emotional connections to family traditions and cultural rituals combined with the desire to embrace the arrival of spring continue to fuel interest in Easter celebrations. Consumer data consistently shows a growing appetite for joyful, seasonal moments and meaningful holiday experiences.

Beginning this season, WGSN has introduced its proprietary Aesthetic Alignment Index across forecast themes. Developed by WGSN’s global experts using AI-driven analysis of market imagery, the index evaluates how strongly emerging trends align with a curated framework of core, enduring aesthetic directions.

For Spring/Summer 2026, forecasts indicate a strong overall alignment. There is a clear preference for artisanal and nature-inspired aesthetics, shaped by themes such as future heirlooms, traditional craftsmanship, and the freshness of the spring season all of which are influencing Easter product ranges. While more structured design elements are used to elevate finishes and add refinement, a sense of playfulness remains central across the forecasts.

At the same time, trends show a thoughtful balance between maximalist and minimalist expressions, as well as between contemporary and retro influences. The key is to blend these approaches with intention  for example, combining bold, maximalist colour palettes with clean, minimalist forms, or introducing retro-inspired patterns on modern silhouettes.
