Two cranes stand in a still pool, their long necks leaning gently across each other under a red watercolour sun that reflects softly in the water below. KOIZURU — a word for cranes in love — sits at the top in calm hand-lettering beside a column of kanji. The print has all the calm patience and emotional centre of a classical sumi-e brush painting — proudly hand-done, beautifully restrained.
