A churning blue whirlpool sits centre stage between two rocky outcrops on the Awa coast, perfect for studies, hallways and panelled living rooms that want a serious antique woodblock anchor. Foam curls in white relief against Prussian blue swells, a pink dawn horizon glows along the upper third, and tiny birds drift across the sky between two kanji cartouches. Utagawa Hiroshige carved the original Edo-period scene in his famous Sixty-odd Provinces series, and this painterly reproduction preserves the indigo gradients and crisp linework.
